“Cuppy’s Corner”

I wrote Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed the beef tips on rice with corn and pudding from the Manor kitchen. I went to physical therapy with Jen Jensen at 2:30 p.m. In the evening, I watched the Minnesota Vikings play the Chicago Bears. The Vikings won 30-12.

Tuesday, I enjoyed the chicken dinner and carrot cake from the Manor kitchen. Kelly Knippling Gran was here at 12:30 p.m. to do vacuuming, etc. I got birthday cards ready to mail to three great grandkids.

Wednesday Lorraine Schultz was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She had pretty red plates and striped napkins. She served Club crackers with cheese and salami and a chocolate candy. Enjoying the food and fellowship were me, Joyce Mees, Luella Teveldal, Kathy Larson and Judy Baumgart. My granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger brought preschool students. They gave each of us a Santa they had colored and sang “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” It was delightful!

At 2 p.m. on Wednesday we played bingo. Shirley Bender called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Joyce Mees, Ruth Jensen, Doris Deneke, Eileen Thomas, Luella Teveldal, Judy Baumgart, Marilyn Robbins and I. Cookies and ice cream were furnished by Ruth Jensen. My granddaughter Baleigh Grace Sails came after school. Candi Sails left chicken noodle soup she had made, before driving to Mitchell for work.

I didn’t go to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop on Thursday since I had a cold. I enjoyed the Philly beef sandwich, peas and cookie dessert from the Manor kitchen.

Friday, I enjoyed the brat, macaroni salad and sauce from the Manor kitchen. There was beautiful Christmas music on TV. I had physical therapy at 2:30 p.m. with Brittany. I received a beautiful box of Christmas goodies from Joanne Grohs which included a loaf of banana bread, several cookies and some candy. I also had a beautiful Christmas bouquet delivered from the flower shop from Angie Mentzer.

Saturday, I enjoyed the Salisbury steak dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. My daughter Cindy Zenk called to let me know the SDSU Jackrabbits were playing the NDSU Bison. The Bison won 28-21.

Sunday, I rode the bus with Delia Atkinson to the Methodist Church. Also riding were Rochelle Witte, Mary Lou Cameron, Elaine Roetman and Roger Cashman. A beautiful prelude was played by Lisa Edwards. Special music, “One Small Child” was sung by Diane Winter. Pastor Cheri Van Gorp welcomed everyone and said a prayer. The Lighting of the Advent Candle of Love was done by the Larson family. We sang the hymn “Love Came Down at Christmas.” Several announcements were shared. Special music was sung by the choir Jan Krohmer, Laura Kieser, Candi Sails, Sandy Beckman Wenzel, Diane Winter, Lila Hoffman, Darrel Winter, Chris Schimke and Kirk Luymes. Some joys were announced, Colter Daniel Waters was born to the Waters family. The Offering was taken by ushers Diane Winter and Elton Kaus. We sang “Go Tell it on the Mountain.” Several children went down for the Children’s Message. Pastor Cheri’s sermon “When Dreams Get Real” Scripture Matthew 1:1825. We closed with the hymn “O Come All Ye Faithful.”

I enjoyed the turkey dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. My grandson Brian Bell, Carlie and Berklie stopped in to visit from Mitchell in the afternoon. They brought me a beautiful poinsettia and a container of Chex mix treats. Julie was home finishing some gift wrapping.

I watched the Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seah. awks football game. The Vikings won 27-24.

My daughter Candi Sails came in the evening and did several things for me.
