I wrote my Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. My granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger took me to the foot doctor at 10:15 a.m. I enjoyed the Philly beef sandwich dinner from the Manor kitchen. In the evening, I watched the Minnesota Twins play the New York Yankees. The Yankees won 6-2.
Tuesday, I enjoyed the ham dinner from the Manor kitchen. At 2:30 p.m. the Methodist Women’s Fellowship met in the dining room. Eileen Kraft Thomas was hostess. She served delicious apple crisp with cool whip. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Pastor Cheri Van Gorp, Darleen Cuppy, Rochelle Witte, Julie Kaus, Mary Lou Cameron, Diane Patton, Cheryl Manthei, Sandy Wenzel, Diane Winter, Judy Lewis and Elaine Roetman.
Wednesday, Luella Teveldal was hostess for the 9 a.m. coffee. She had pretty, colorful plates and napkins and served delicious caramel rolls and frosted rolls made by Marla Ness. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Darleen Cuppy, Judy Baumgart and Kathy Brandenburg. I enjoyed the delicious roast beef dinner from the Manor kitchen. At 2 p.m. bingo was played in the dining room. Shirley Bender called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Ruth Jensen, Joyce Mees, Darleen Cuppy, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, Doris Deneke and Marilyn Robbins. Ruth Jensen furnished delicious bars for lunch. At 6 p.m. the Minnesota Twins played the New York Yankees. The Twins won 4-1.
Thursday, I rode the bus with Jim Deines to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for a 10:30 a.m. appointment. I enjoyed the pork chop dinner and pudding from the Manor kitchen. At 6:30 p.m. I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Detroit Tigers. Detroit won 4-3. My granddaughter, Becky Bell Krueger, helped me with several things. I am very grateful.
Friday, I got a package in my mail, it was two watches from my daughter Cindy Zenk of Webster. My old watch had quit working several weeks ago, so nice to have a watch again. At noon I enjoyed the noodle hot dish, peas and banana cream pie from the Manor kitchen. Friday evening, my daughter Candi Sails brought me supper from the Cone Zone. It was a big cheeseburger, coleslaw, and an ear of sweet corn. It was all so delicious! I had two meals from it. She stayed to visit for a while. The Minnesota Twins played the Detroit Tigers at 7 p.m. The Tigers won big 7-0.
Saturday, I enjoyed one of my favorite meals from the Manor kitchen, BBQ ribs, baked beans, coleslaw and pudding. My daughter Connie Theurer called Saturday afternoon. They live in Rosemount, MN. They had enjoyed the Cuppy Reunion at the Field House the week before. The grandchildren enjoyed the swimming pool and the park, etc. I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Detroit Tigers at 6 p.m. The Tigers won again 8-5.
Sunday, I rode the bus with Delia Atkinson to the Methodist Church. Others riding to the 11 a.m. church service were Rochelle Witte, Mary Lou Cameron, and Elaine Roetman. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. Lynn Horsley and Blake Willman lit the candles. Pastor Cheri welcomed everyone and said a prayer. Special music was by Katherine Klein. She sang “God in the Mountain” and did sign language with it. Several joys and concerns were shared by Darrel Winter, Judy Lewis, Sandy Wenzel and Elaine Roetman. We all said the Lord’s Prayer. Katherine Klein sang “It is Well with My Soul.” We closed with a prayer by Pastor Cheri.
When I got back to my apartment, I enjoyed the meatloaf dinner and apple pie. Then I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Detroit Tigers. The Twins won big 8-1! Later Luella Teveldal’s daughter Kari of Pierre brought me a pretty bouquet of flowers. She had them for her mom, but Luella was going fishing with other family members for three days.
The kitchen staff always has a nice message on the lid of our pudding or salad or pie. I’m sharing this one today; “Someone is sitting in shade today – because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”
