Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

I wrote my news Monday morning. Delia came to get it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed the roast beef dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. My twin sister Marleen Caffee of Rapid City called to visit in the afternoon. Her son Dave and Nancy Caffee had been to visit her. They live on a ranch west of Wessington Springs. I saw a picture on Facebook; they all three look very happy! No Minnesota Twins game.

Tuesday, I got lots of birthday cards ready to mail to my family. I enjoyed the shredded pork sandwich dinner and cheesecake from the Manor kitchen. In the evening, I enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars on channel 9.

Wednesday was October first. Lorraine Schultz was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. Her daughter Sondra was here from Omaha, NE. Lorraine had pretty plates and napkins with fall leaves etc. Lorraine served delicious muffins and banana bread. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Darleen Cuppy Kathy Brandenburg, Luella Teveldal, Judy Baumgart and Millie the mail lady.

Thursday, I rode the bus with Joanne Grohs to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for a shampoo, set and manicure. My daughter Candi Sails came in the evening and did several things for me and visited for a while.

Friday, I enjoyed the chicken noodle casserole and chocolate cake with fudge frosting. In the evening, I went for a walk for some fresh air and exercise.

Saturday, I had a beef sandwich and peach sauce. My grandson Deion Sails of Sioux Falls brought his children Athena Skye and two-year-old True James to visit Grandma Dar in the afternoon. They had dinner at the Cone Zone with his parents Candi and Leon.

Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings played the Browns at 8:30 a.m. in London (I couldn’t get it on.) Anyway, I heard on the news that the Vikings won 21-17. I was planning to go to the Methodist church for the 11 a.m. service, but my left leg has phlebitis (infection of the varicose veins) and I needed to elevate them. I did watch the Christian Worship Hour with Pastor Salem on TV. I enjoyed the pork dinner and apple pie from the Manor kitchen.
