Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

I wrote my news Monday morning. Delia came to get it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed the beef stroganoff and watermelon from the Manor kitchen. In the evening, I went out for a walk for some fresh air and exercise.

Tuesday, I enjoyed the chicken dinner and carrot cake from the Manor kitchen. My granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger came in the evening to visit and helped me with several things.

Wednesday, Judy Baumgart was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served some tasty cookies. Thanks to Lorraine Schultz for making and serving the coffee. Others enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Darleen Cuppy, Kathy Brandenburg, Luella Teveldal and Millie our mail lady. I enjoyed the spaghetti dinner, breadstick and sauce from the Manor kitchen. At 2 p.m. on Wednesday we played bingo. Joyce Mees called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Doris Deneke, Sondra Fuerst, Darleen Cuppy (I wasn’t as lucky as last week!), Marilyn Robbins and Judy Baumgart. Doris Deneke made coffee and served some tasty cookies. She was the hostess with the mostess!

Thursday, I enjoyed the Philly beef sandwich and peas and cake from the Manor kitchen. The fire whistle blew; I saw on Facebook some hay bales burned on the Fastnacht farm. In the evening, my daughter Candi Sails brought some groceries I needed and stayed to visit a while.

Friday, I enjoyed a roast pork sandwich and peach sauce. I went out for a walk in the late afternoon and enjoyed the fresh air and exercise. My granddaughter Nicole Darleen Cuppy called in the evening. She travels a lot for her work. She was in California when she called. Her parents are Darryl and Nancy Cuppy.

Saturday, I enjoyed the roast beef sandwich, peas and carrots, and poke cake from the Manor kitchen. My daughter Cindy Zenk of Webster called to let me know the SDSU Jacks were playing Iowa. The Jacks won 31-3. My granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger came in the evening and helped me with several things.

Sunday, I watched a church service on TV. I enjoyed the pork dinner and Boston cream pie from the Manor kitchen. At 1:30 p.m. my daughter Carol Collins of Castlewood came to get me. She and Jeff hired a photographer to come to the Springs Park to take pictures of Grandma Dar with Carol and Jeff, Brittany and Trent Luoma and boys Ezra Jacob and Micah Joseph, Ashley Collins and boyfriend Tony Gripp, Dylan and Lauren Collins and oneyear- old Evelyn Carol. It was quite windy and cool! We were hoping the leaves would be colorful, but most had been blown off. The photographer was very good and had nice props such as a rocking chair and love seat. It was a great day!
