Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

I wrote my news Sunday evening. Delia got it Monday forenoon. I enjoyed the roast beef dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen.

Tuesday my daughter Cindy Zenk of Webster came to drive me to Mitchell for my 10:30 a.m. appointment to have my eyes checked by Dr. Krall. He said they looked great, and I didn’t need new glasses. He couldn’t believe I was 92 years old. We got lunch at McDonalds drive through. It tasted delicious – don’t do that very often.

Wednesday I was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. I had small red plates and pretty Christmas napkins. I served a donut and mini muffins and party mix of small cheese crackers, red and green M&Ms to pass around. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Luella Teveldal, Lorraine Schultz, Kathy Brandenburg and Millie our mail lady. I enjoyed the chicken dinner from the Manor kitchen. At 2 p.m. bingo was played in the dining room. Shirley Bender called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Joyce Mees, Doris Deneke, Luella Teveldal, Darleen Cuppy and Eileen Kraft Thomas. That evening, I enjoyed watching “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” and a Christmas music show in Nashville, TN.

Thursday, I enjoyed the beef tips on rice and a cookie from the Manor kitchen. In the evening, I watched the grade school Christmas concert on the school channel. Thanks to Becky Bell Krueger for calling to let me know. The concert was so delightful.

Friday, I enjoyed the chicken noodle casserole and fruit cobbler. In the evening, I enjoyed the high school Christmas concert on the school channel. It was wonderful!

Saturday, we got several inches of snow. I wrote my Christmas newsletter to put in a Christmas card for my family. Saturday night I enjoyed watching the National Rodeo. My grandsonDannyandKayla Zenk from Lingford, SD attended it. Their children Luella Jo, Lucas and Owen stayed with Grandpa Fred and Grandma Cindy Zenk at their farm near Webster.

Sunday, I watched the Christian Worship Hour with Pastor Salem on TV. I enjoyed the pork dinner and apple pie from the Manor kitchen. I watched the MN Vikings play the Washington Commanders. The Vikings won big 310! In the evening, my daughter Candi Sails brought me a pasta hot dish for supper. She stayed to visit for a while.
