I am in the Wessington Springs Hospital as I write my news this Monday morning – being treated for infection in my varicose veins.
I had beef stroganoff, carrots and sauce on Monday, and I worked on my Christmas letter.
Tuesday Pastor Cheri stopped in to visit. I had a chicken dinner and carrot cake. In the evening Candi took me to look at Christmas lights around town.
Wednesday, Joyce Mees was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She had pretty little plates and napkins with red and green plaid design and a big red poinsettia. She served a delicious yellow sheet cake with red and green sprinkles on it and snack mix with cheese sticks and small cheese crackers. I enjoyed the food and fellowship with Luella Teveldal, Lorraine Schultz, Kathy Brandenburg and the mail lady Millie. At 2 p.m. cards were played but I didn’t go because my home health helper Hailey did laundry, vacuuming and so forth. Judy Winegar stopped in with a big box of snacks and goodies from the Templeton women’s fellowship. It sure did cheer me up.
Thursday, I usually go to Angie’s beauty shop, but Jim Deines called that it was too icy for me to go. I had a Philly beef sandwich and cake for dinner from the Manor kitchen. I watched the girls’ and boys’ basketball game on the school channel.
Friday, I went to see Sara Cashman at the clinic because of my leg. She admitted me to the hospital. Candi helped me.
Saturday, I had a hot beef sandwich and poke cake. Candi and I worked on Christmas cards in the evening.
On Sunday I watched church on TV because I have been in the hospital. The MN Vikings played the Dallas Cowboys and they won 34-26! Candi watched it with me.
The nurses, Trinity Flowers,MeganBaumgart, Jayslee Peterson, Miriam and Dr. Lim have been taking great care of me. But I hope to get home soon. I am thankful for our hospital and all of the wonderful staff.
