Darleen wrote her news Monday morning. Delia came to get it later in the forenoon. Darleen enjoyed the chicken and noodles hot dish, carrots and watermelon from the Manor kitchen. In the evening Darleen enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins play the Colorado Rockies. The Twins won 5-0!

LETTERBOX: Fabulous turn out at recent blood drive

Alyssa Grohs, from Wessington Springs High School, held a Scholarship Blood Drive with LifeServe Blood Center on Tuesday, June 11, and had a fabulous turn out. Thirty-eight people registered to donate, 34 donors were able to donate, and 40 units of life saving blood were donated.

Darleen wrote her news Monday forenoon. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. (No Minnesota Twins game.)Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the shredded pork sandwich, green beans and pudding from the Manor kitchen.

Darleen wrote her news Monday forenoon. Delia came to get it much later, as she attended the Memorial Day service. Darleen is proud of her family that have served. Her dad Mike Weeldreyer served in the Army, four brothers: Elmer – Army, Harvey – Marines, Roger – Navy and Robert (Bob) – Army.

Darleen wrote her news Monday morning and Delia came to get it later in the forenoon. Darleen enjoyed the noodles and beef hotdish, carrots and pudding from the Manor kitchen. Monday evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Washington Nationals. The Twins lost 3-12.

SD Magazine Monthly Column: Looking for Frank Ashford

Frank Ashford may be one of the most consequential South Dakota artists that hardly anyone knows.Ashford was born in Iowa in 1878 and moved with his family to Stratford, southeast of Aberdeen along the James River, in 1893. At age 18, he left to study art in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York.

Darleen wrote her news Monday morning and Delia came to get it later in the forenoon. Darleen was grateful her granddaughter Becky Krueger picked her up for the awards night Monday. Many awards and scholarships were presented. Becky presented the Minnie Weeldreyer Scholarship.
