A large crowd attended the annual VFW benefit and raffle held earlier this month at the 4-H building in Wessington Springs. VFW teener baseball players and VFW members served up hamburgers and hot dogs to attendees with all funds raised going toward equipment including bats, balls and uniforms for the youth and teener baseball teams.
The intricate quilt made by Marianna Borkowski was raffled with Jerry Voorhees, owner of Jerry’s Motor Clinic, being drawn as the lucky winner. VFW member Leo Channel expressed gratitude to the Wessington Springs community for their generous donations and making the event a huge success.
