Owls Punch Ticket to State, Finish 12-6 on Season

After defeating the Chamberlain Mallards 11-0 on Tuesday, July 30, the Springs Owls punched their ticket to the Class B Amateur Baseball State Tournament, held August 7 - 18 at Caldwell Park in Mitchell.

Springs Country Club Women’s League Holds Tumbleweed Open

The Tumbleweed Open was held on July 29 with 27 two-women teams participating. Two separate tournaments were held: the Saddles started at 2 p.m. and played 18 holes. The Spurs started at 5 p.m. and joined the Saddles for a 9-hole tournament.

Foothills Rodeo 2024 Draws Record Crowd

With over 200 contestants forcing the need for additional sections in both Ladies Breakaway and Bull Riding, the Wessington Springs Foothills Rodeo guaranteed attendees lots of action...and boy did rodeo fans show up in numbers, filling the grandstands and lining the arena.

Fagerhaug Earns Right to Represent SD at NHSFR

At this year’s South Dakota High School Rodeo state finals, held June 13-15 at Fort Pierre, a new group of champions earned the right to represent South Dakota later this month at the national finals.

Over 30 teams of dedicated golfers went on to complete the 16th Annual Blue and Gold Golf Tournament held Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Springs Country Club in Wessington Springs.Golfers enjoyed 18-holes and lunch with all proceeds from the tourney supporting the Spartans Booster Club.
