Over 30 teams of dedicated golfers went on to complete the 16th Annual Blue and Gold Golf Tournament held Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Springs Country Club in Wessington Springs.Golfers enjoyed 18-holes and lunch with all proceeds from the tourney supporting the Spartans Booster Club.

Riding the wave of excitement following the first-ever golf championship for Wessington Springs High School, it was announced that Head Golf Coach Regina Teveldal was named the South Dakota Region 2B Golf Coach of the Year.

On the heels of winning the Class B Golf Championship earlier this month, the Spartans and their coaches received a prestigious invitation to Governor Noem’s Champions Luncheon held on Thursday, June 13.

The David Jost Memorial Ball Field was packed Sunday night as a big crowd filled the park to witness the Springs Owls (3-2) take on the Kimball/White Lake (5-1) Nationals.Despite the home crowd support, the Kimball/ White Lake Nationals had a big ninth inning, defeating the Springs Owls 8-2.

Entering the second day of the Class B State Boys’ Golf Tournament last Tuesday, the Wessington Springs Boys Golf Team enjoyed a nine-stroke advantage. But as Blake Larson made his way down the 18th fairway, unbeknownst to him, the team’s lead had shrunk to a single stroke.
