Youth Wrestling Camp to be Hosted by WSHS Senior

As a part of his senior project, WSHS Senior, Braydin LaBore, is set to hold a wrestling camp for Kindergarten - 6th graders, Monday, February 27, 2023 from 5 - 6 p.m. LaBore invites all area youth wrestlers to participate in his camp that will focus on the fundamentals of wrestling.

Lady Spartans clinch second seed in Region 5B

On Thursday, February 9, the girls traveled to Warner to take on a Warner team that was 13-5 entering the game. The first quarter saw the Spartans get out to a good start and took a 17-12 lead after one quarter of play.

State qualifiers Jackson Carter (113), Joey Hoverson (145), Keegan Haider (182) and alternates Braydin LaBore and Ethan Rearick headed west Tuesday for South Dakota State Wrestling in Rapid City February 23-25. Results will be published in next week’s True Dakotan.

Spartans Move to 13-6 on Season

The Spartans boys defeated James Valley Christian Vikings to come away with a 62-51 victory in 281 Conference action Friday at home. The Spartans won their sixth straight game to move to 13-6. Ryder Michalek (shown at right) led Springs with 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Spartans Sizzle: Girls Go 3-0 On the Week

The Spartans girls basketball team had a very good week this past week by going 3-0. The Spartans week started on Tuesday with an OT win over Iroquois/ Lake Preston in Iroquois by a score of 71-65. The Spartans started out strong by taking a 13-7 lead after one quarter.
