After an exciting 2nd place team win at regions held May 23 in Dell Rapids, Blake Larson, Brock Krueger and JD Thompson all individually qualified to play at the State Golf Meet on June 5 and 6 in Watertown.

On Thursday, May 18, 2023, the Spartans traveled to Lake Andes to participate in the Region 5B Track & Field meet. The smoke coming down from the Canadian wildfires didn’t lift as we traveled south thus making conditions a little bit tougher on some athletes.

On Tuesday, May 9, 2023, the Spartans traveled to Huron to participate in the 281 Conference Meet. In girls’ shot-put Avery Orth won with her toss of 37’ 9”. Anna Arhart’s throw of 32’ 0.5” for 4th place and Kirstie Munsen threw 29’ 8” and landed in 5th place. Alicia Collins threw 24’ 9.

Miller Booster Club Meet On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, while over half of the team was in Sioux Falls competing at the state FCCLA convention, the rest of the Spartans traveled to Miller for the Booster Club meet. The clouds rolled in faster than the wind blew, if that was possible.

The Spartans enjoyed a thrilling and memorable day on the golf course last Thursday, April 27 as the varsity boys team claimed first place and Blake Larson medaled top honors after reaching a pinnacle many golfers never reach — a hole in one. Larson landed first with a 69.
