WSHS Class of 1958 Celebrates 66th Reunion

The Wessington Springs High School Class of 1958 met in September 2024, for their 66th Class Reunion. This small class of 29 graduates, had 11 classmates in attendance. Twelve members of the class are deceased, with six unable to attend.

In March 2015, Kristi Hine purchased the True Dakotan newspaper and building on Main Street in Wessington Springs. We discovered many surprises in that building, some of which were the houseplants we inherited.

From the halls of WSHS we bring our first project of the school year completed by Advanced Art I senior, Kaitlyn Swenson.For this project, Kaitlyn chose to work with colored pencils. She did a nice job drawing the picture and keeping the body proportions of the turtle correct.

Anglers and Post 14 supporters will gather this weekend for the Third Annual American Legion Fishing Tournament, to be held from Ft. Thompson to West Bend Sept. 28 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Two-person teams may enter for $150 and can weigh in up to seven fish.

Blackhawk Youth Football Steps Out on the Big Stage

During homecoming halftime, all eyes turned to the field to meet the next generation of Blackhawks. Introductions of each player were announced by Dana Fagerhaug over the loudspeaker, as teammates shared high fives during a tunnel run through.
