Every year upon returning to Wessington Springs he makes a point of attending the Ducks Unlimited Annual Banquet to purchase an original painting by local artist Kenzee Schafer. When Clovis, New Mexico hunter Dean Van Dam bought his first painting by then 11-yearold artist Kenzee Schafer, he saw something special in the way she captured her subject.“I was impressed at how she made the duck come to life on the canvas and I just really liked the painting,” he shared.

From the halls of Wessington Springs High School we bring a new project to this week’s Artist’s Corner.This project was recently completed by Advanced Art I senior, Ridge Roduner. For this project, he chose to work with charcoal as he had never worked with it before and wanted to try something new.
