Wolsey-Wessington Kicks Off New Year With Back to School Bash
(LEFT) Cooper Timm takes his turn as the brave student in the dunk tank during Wolsey-Wessington’s Back to School Bash Friday. Families were welcomed back with a meal, cake walk, bounce houses and plenty of games and activities in The Commons. Also on hand were Carol Larsen, Suzanne Hamilton and Glenda Crandall with a freewill bake sale benefiting BYYs, which has raised more than $25,000 over the past decade to provide scholarships for Wolsey-Wessington seniors.

Wessington Springs Welcomes Students at Back to School Night
The Schelske siblings, from left, Hayes, Henley and Holden, take advantage of a back-to-school photo booth while mom Marissa snaps a photo Monday evening. Families were welcomed back during Back to School Night at both Wessington Springs Elementary School and the Middle/High school. Classes begin Wednesday, Aug. 19. See this fall’s varsity sports schedules on page five, and look to next week’s True Dakotan to meet new staff members across the school district.
