Jerauld and Buffalo County 4-Hers embraced the opportunity to showcase the skills they’ve developed all year long at Achievement Days held in Wessington Springs last week. The five-day event was held at the 4-H barn and Jerauld County Ag Building with two special projects bringing folks to a golf tournament at Springs Country Club and a roping clinic at the 4-H rodeo grounds.
Volunteers, family and friends cheered on and supported youth Monday and Tuesday with 125 livestock entries and 170 display exhibits as they showed their best from the 2022- 2023 project year.
On Thursday, 4-H Teen Leaders Association (TLA) members Tucker Thompson and Teagan Scheel organized the Clover Green Golf Tournament which attracted 20 youth/ adult teams to Springs Country Club, followed by the annual burger bust for all 4-H families.
To round out the week, 4-H member Ella Fagerhaug coordinated a breakaway roping clinic that brought 34 participants.
From robotics and photography to sewing, gardening and showing livestock, 4-H has a program to interest every youth.
