Community events set to scare up some fun Halloween weekend

Look no further than Wessington Springs for plenty of spooky, family fun this Halloween weekend with plenty of tricks and treats up for grabs Friday, Saturday and Monday.

Head to the Old Grade Nature Trail…if you dare!
The second annual Trail of Fears will provide fun and fright to area folks on the Old Grade Nature Trail Friday, October 28 and Saturday October 29. Two levels of scare factor will be featured, with the 6:30 -7:30 p.m. event for those wanting a little Halloween fun and the 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. offered up to those that are more daring. Admission for ages 13 and older is $5, 4-12 years is $3 and ages 3 and under are free. Enter at the trail head below Cannon Ball Hill for a hefty dose of fright and fun. Trunk or Treat in the WS City Park
On Saturday, October 29 from 4-6 p.m., Jerauld/Buffalo 4-H members and area businesses are hosting a Trunk or Treat in the Wessington Springs City Park — a fun, outdoor opportunity to fill up Halloween sacks with lots of candy. Halloween Walk kicks off a night of trick or treating
Little ghouls and goblins are invited by the Wessington Springs Area Chamber and Development to kick off Halloween trick or treating in Wessington Springs with a Halloween Walk on Main Street and throughout the business district, Monday, October 31 from 3:30 - 5 p.m. Check out PAGE TEN for more about the Halloween Walk.

Nursing home closed to trick or treaters but ghouls and goblins invited to Weskota Apartment dining rooms
Later that evening as children head out into the community to trick or treat, the Weskota Apartments invite costume-clad kids to the dining rooms at the north and south apartments. Due to Covid guidelines, no trick or treating at the Manor this year. For more information, see the ad on PAGE TEN
