DU Banquet Raises Funds for Local Habitat Conservation Efforts

Volunteers are key in making banquet a big success

    The local Ducks Unlimited (DU) chapter held its annual banquet Saturday night at the American Legion / Prairie Lounge in Wessington Springs. Committee members’ hard work paid off with a lucrative banquet.

    “The funds we raise at our annual banquet go towards conservation of local habitat for ducks, geese and all wildlife,”said Josh Luckett, Ducks Unlimited Wessington Springs Committee Chairman.

    The annual banquet kicked off the night with a social, followed by supper. The much-loved event also featured a variety of raffles and games throughout the evening that helped the chapter raise funds for conservation.

    “I want to thank all who attended and also the members and volunteers for their hard work that added to the overall success of this year’s banquet,” Luckett said. “Pulling off large scale events like the Ducks Unlimited banquet each year relies on the help of many volunteers.”

    A decorated chapter recognized nationally, the Wessington Springs Ducks Unlimited Chapter recently received the top honor of “Elite” status for its work during 2021.
