Spartans Cap Strong Season After Tight Regional Semifinal

Mitchell reflects on senior leadership, program culture and a thrilling season

    A matchup between two of the state’s top Class B teams is typically reserved for the Barnett Center. Instead, the No. 1 Castlewood Warriors and No. 5 Wessington Springs Spartans met Saturday in the Region 2B semifinals at Huron Arena with a SoDak 16 berth on the line.

    In a tightly contested battle that went down to the final moments, Castlewood escaped with a 55–53 win to end the Spartans’ season.
