Venture Communications to be featured on national program

VentureCommunications will be featured in an upcoming episode of All Access, hosted by actor Andy Garcia, highlighting the role broadband plays in rural communities.

The segment will explore how reliable, high-speed internet supports agriculture, education, health care, businesses and everyday life, while also examining the challenges of providing advanced communications services in rural areas.

Venture Communications is a member-owned cooperative serving more than 40 communities across central and northeastern South Dakota. The cooperative, which has served the region since 1952, now operates a 100% fiberto- the-home network connecting homes, farms, businesses, schools and health care providers.

'Being selected for All Access is an opportunity to share the story of rural broadband and the impact it has on the communities we proudly serve,' Venture CEO Fay Jandreau said. 'We're honored to highlight not only the technology behind our network, but also the dedicated employees, members and communities that make our cooperative unique.'

Filming took place at Venture's headquarters in Highmore, the newly renovated South Dakota State Historical Society in Pierre and two Venture customer locations. The program includes interviews with Gov. Larry Rhoden, Jandreau, Venture Board President John Langer and Venture customers.

The segment will highlight the cooperative's history, its transition to a fiber network and the ways dependable broadband connects and supports rural South Dakota communities.

All Access is an educational television series featuring organizations, technologies and innovations from across the country. The Venture Communications episode will be distributed to public television stations nationwide and made available to affiliates for up to a year.
