Grieve, four-legged companion, take on September challenge for veteran suicide prevention
For most of September, early morning travelers along Highway 34 near Wessington Springs may have noticed Marlene Grieve walking along the road, often pushing what appears from a distance to be a baby stroller.
Look a little closer and they’ll find Sophie, Grieve’s 13-year-old dog, riding along.
“I’m sure people went by and thought, ‘What an ugly baby!’” Grieve joked.
