Recent WSACF grants add to $199,000 total awarded in community since ‘97

The Wessington Springs Area Community Foundation (WSACF) recently awarded $3,250 to area organizations, further fulfilling its dedication to help the community continue to thrive.

During the organization’s spring grant cycle, WSACF awarded grant funds to the following organizations: Wessington Springs Soccer Association for the purchase of new equipment; City of Wessington Springs to help purchase replacement garland strings/ Christmas lights for Main Street; 1905 Opera House for help toward purchase of a new spotlight.

The WSACF board recently created the infographic above to aid in the understanding of the foundation’s purpose in the Wessington Springs area. Following the infographic’s message, donors, whether they are individuals, businesses or groups give gifts (cash, memorials, securities, retirement funds) in order to help create and build the community’s fund. Distributions from that fund are given twice a year in the form of grants to area community organizations. To date, $308,000 has been donated and invested in the community’s fund, with $199,000 awarded to community organizations since 1997. Visit the website at the bottom of the infographic to learn more about WSACF.
