The second annual Wessington Springs High School (WSHS) Athletic Hall of Fame Inductions will be unveiled this Friday, taking place during half time of the boys varsity basketball game on February 17.
The inaugural class of the WSHS Athletic Hall of Fame included: Gary Schwartz, Dennis Womeldorf, Darrin Mebius, Cole Hurley, Lacey Johnson Babich, Jase Kraft, Drew Kraft and Mitch Kraft.
Created as part of the class of 2021 WSHS graduate Dylan Schimke’s senior project, this year’s inductees will be announced by Schimke himself.
“Last year showed that the community really liked the idea of honoring WSHS graduates and creating something that allows people to look back at past exceptional athletes of Springs. It also gives current athletes something to reach for,” Schimke said.
