King Brock Krueger and Queen Alyssa Grohs Carry on Longstanding "Burning of the WS" Tradition
A packed gymnasium filled with parents, students and community members witnessed Wessington Springs High School Homecoming (WSHS) Coronation Tuesday night, as seniors Brock Krueger and Alyssa Grohs were crowned Homecoming King and Queen.
Following the ceremony, attendees ventured outdoors to the practice field east of the gym to witness the newly-crowned Homecoming King Brock and Queen Alyssa carry on the time-honored tradition of the "burning of the WS." A lively student "car-smash" rounded out the night.

Thursday, September 21

- Volleyball at home vs Lower Brule - 4:30 p.m.
Friday, September 22
- MS/HS dress up day– Spirit Day
- ES dress up day - Blackhawk or Spartans apparel
- Pep Rally at elementary school gymnasium. Community is welcome to attend - 8:15 a.m.
- Early dismissal at 1 p.m.
- Homecoming parade - 2 p.m.
- Blackhawks in Wessington Springs vs TDA/ACDC at 7 p.m.
