Food, Family, and Faith

There’s a beautiful simplicity that I love about Thanksgiving. It consists of just three basic parts: food, family, and faith.

MEDICARE ADVANTAGE

TV is flooded these days with commercials encouraging everyone to sign up for Medicare Advantage(MA). What is MA and why are they doing this? First of all, a bit of history.

RECREATING

I believe God has a very healthy guilt conscience. He never forsakes us or abandons us or ignores us. God always does His part and more. Maybe the guilt conscience should be on our part? Do we ever forsake God? Do we ever abandon God? Do we every ignore God?

LETTERBOX

To the editor: This past week we observed Veterans Day honoring those who have sacrificed to protect our country. It is certainly wise and appropriate that we do so. It brings into focus how important it is to have those who are/were willing to sacrifice for others.

FALL BACK

By Fr. Terry Weber, St. Joseph's Catholic Church “Fall Back,” a term we hear a lot at this time of year with Daylight Saving time change. I remember as a little kid asking my parents how they knew when the clock should be changed and in what way. Keeping it simple, they tied it to the seasons.

Service and Sacrifice

BY SEN JOHN THUNE  Etched into stone at the Korean War Memorial are the words, “Freedom is not free.” The generations of Americans who have made immense sacrifices in service to the United States know all too well what it costs to defend our country and secure our freedoms.
