'Tis the Season for Wellness: A Head Start on Holiday Health

Amid the merriment of this season, it's easy to neglect our own wellness. While we could wait until New Year’s to make resolutions, why not get proactive this year and get a head start on your personal health? Start now and by Jan. 1, 2024, you may already have some good habits in hand.

GOD ALWAYS BY MY SIDE

A scripture passage says: “God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all and in all.” God never leaves our side, whether we realize it or not. He is always, faithfully with us. We need to remind ourselves of that daily.

“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen Cuppy wrote her news Monday morning; Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. Darleen’s twin sister Marleen Caffee of Rapid City called Monday afternoon. She is doing good. She was going to have Thanksgiving dinner with some friends from church.
I’d like to invite you to stop by this Saturday, December 2 from 2 - 5 p.m. The True Dakotan is part of the Christmas Tour of Homes and Businesses and we can’t wait to welcome you inside one of Wessington Springs Main Street’s oldest buildings. We look forward to seeing you and enjoying some snacks, refreshments and a look at the building’s rich history together. We also can’t wait to show you the finished product of the renovated-just-last-year historic table shown above, pre-refurbish.

Two-years and counting since post-renovation move-in, we (finally) welcome you to our open house

I know, I know, I have promised an open house of our renovated 108-year old building for well over two years now. Many of you have witnessed my sheepish reply since we moved back to Main Street after the 2020 fire first hand. It goes something like this: “When is your open house Kristi?

Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving kicks off the holiday season. As we spend time with family and friends during this special time of year, many of us may have a tradition of going around the table and sharing what we’re thankful for.

Food, Family, and Faith

There’s a beautiful simplicity that I love about Thanksgiving. It consists of just three basic parts: food, family, and faith.

MEDICARE ADVANTAGE

TV is flooded these days with commercials encouraging everyone to sign up for Medicare Advantage(MA). What is MA and why are they doing this? First of all, a bit of history.

RECREATING

I believe God has a very healthy guilt conscience. He never forsakes us or abandons us or ignores us. God always does His part and more. Maybe the guilt conscience should be on our part? Do we ever forsake God? Do we ever abandon God? Do we every ignore God?
