Recognizing Community Support

The Wessington Springs School District is fortunate to have the support of such a great community! This month I want to share some of the ways that our community continues to provide tremendous support for our students.

Darleen Cuppy wrote her Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. Darleen enjoyed the ham dinner from the Manor kitchen. Tuesday was a blustery day. Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails stopped in with some things she needed and stayed to visit awhile.

Third attempt to change legal newspaper rules fails in committee

PIERRE — For the third time during the current legislative session, legislation designed to change the way legal newspapers are defined in South Dakota has been defeated. The latest attempt in Tuesday’s meeting of the Senate Commerce and Energy Committee was SB178, a hoghoused bill.

Week 7 in the state legislature has come and gone just as quick as last week. Crossover Day happened and with as many new members, like myself, there wasn’t nearly as many bills introduced, so it wasn’t quite the extravaganza as years past.
