Cranking up spirit in a big way at recent home basketball games, Spartans fans have been packing the bleachers at both home and away games. One hometown fan in particular, Loren Von Eye, pictured at center clad in his signature Spartans gear, said he’s been enjoying the reaction he gets from fellow fans and the players themselves. “We have a great fan base and it’s important to cheer on the student athletes. Plus it’s a lot of fun to see the reaction from the kids,” Von Eye said. He also happens to hold the 2022 Spartan Spirit Award and with nominations currently open for this year’s award, he’s encouraged by the energy level at games. His ultimate goal is simple: to elevate Spartan spirit far and wide across the community.
