In a signing ceremony held in the Wessington Springs High School (WSHS) auditorium earlier this month, WSHS senior Holden Havlik signed a letter of intent to play quarterback at Northern State University.

Fifth-seeded Wessington Springs scored a 49-48 win over No. 4 Castlewood in the Region 2B quarterfinals on Tuesday in White. Wessington Springs had 14 points from Kerstynn Heim, 12 points from Mariah Messmer and seven points from both Kendall Kolousek and Ashlyn Weber.

On Tuesday, February 11, the Wessington Springs Spartans girls basketball team traveled to Platte to take on the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers. The Spartans started out slow and trailed 12-6 after one quarter of play. Platte-Geddes increased that lead to 14-6 with about 4 minutes to go in the half.
