Wessington Springs Punches Ticket to 2025 State B Tourney

With a convincing 75-49 SoDak 16 win over Timber Lake Tuesday, Wessington Springs secured their second-straight trip to the Class B state basketball tournament.During SoDak 16 action in Ft. Pierre, the Spartans displayed their depth to cruise past the Panthers.

Ranked at No. 4 in the final Class B South Dakota Prep Media poll this season, the 20-2 Spartans successfully navigated post season to once again, play in the SoDak 16.

A storm that continued throughout Tuesday and brought hazardous driving conditions prompted the Wessington Springs School District to close on March 4, 2025.The Region 2B boys basketball games originally scheduled to be played in Wessington Springs Tuesday night were also postponed.

WS/W/W-W Wrestlers Find Success at Regions

In addition to the four state-bound Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington wrestlers headed to state (see PAGE ONE of this week's print and e-edition), other wrestlers also found success at regions. The girls’ team placed 8th and boys’ team finished 7th.
