The Blackhawks played the Redfield Pheasants last Thursday for the first round of the 11B playoffs at Wessington Springs. The result of the game was a Pheasant victory over the Blackhawks 7-6 and advancement to the second round of the playoffs.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY MAKES SPARTAN HISTORY

On Wednesday, October 12, the Spartans traveled up to Gettysburg, SD, for the Region 4B crosscountry meet. The wind blew against us the whole way up there, but at least there wasn’t any snow on the ground or moisture coming from the sky.

The Blackhawks returned home with a victory over the Rapid City Christian Comets after a night of football action out west at Hart Ranch. Blackhawks QB Holden Havlik on the move.

The Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/ Blackhawks outlasted the Rapid City Christian Comets, 14-6 on Friday with the ‘Hawks improving to 6-2. The match up was held at Hart Ranch in Rapid City.

The next generation of Blackhawks Football celebrates an undefeated season for both the 3-4 and 5-6 grade teams with the younger group finishing 9-0 and the older kids at 7-0. “We have great kids and we had a great season,” said Head Coach Cody Hasty. “I’m so proud of them.

As the cross-country season enters the final stretch, the Spartans’ pick up the pace as their schedule prepares them for a strong finish. We kicked off Homecoming week by traveling to Miller on Monday, September 26, 2022, for the Miller Invitational. The kids ran very well for a Monday meet.

Last week marked homecoming week for the Wessington Springs/ Woonsocket/Sanborn Central Blackhawks, and they took on the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers. It was a big game for the Blackhawks, as a win would lock them in for a winning record this season.
