In the semifinals of the 281 conference tournament the Wessington Springs Spartans girls defeated James Valley Christian by a score of 47-37 to advance to the 281 conference championship game. The Spartans did not start off well offensively and trailed 9-4 at the end of the 1st quarter.

In the first round of the 281 conference tournament, the Spartans girls basketball team defeated Iroquois/Lake Preston by a score of 7556. The Spartans got off to a quick start and led 22-9 at the end of the first quarter.
