The WSHS students have been busy working on the Spring play for the last month. This play is a murder mystery titled “Too Many Detectives in the Murder Mansion.” This play has no specific lead roles. All the characters in the play have an equal amount of stage time, which allowed Director Katie Jackson to cast a variety of students in important roles.
We interviewed Damien Knippling about the experience. He plays Sam Spade and Fred. He mentioned that right now they have been working on getting down the ending options and working on lines. He compared the play to Clue where there are a variety of possible conclusions. When asked what the audience can be looking forward to, he said, laughing, “Batman is into odd tastes.”
He also hinted that SherlockHolmeswillmake a few key appearances.
Damien says he enjoys going to the Opera House, spending time with friends every day, and using the cool costumes.
Recently the actors have been going off script to test the memory of their lines as well as finding costumes for the actors. That has been a big priority so that dress rehearsals can take place on the horizon.
Performances are scheduled for Friday, April 17 with a showing at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
