Area kids and Awana youth ministry leaders treated families to an exciting, fun night of derby car racing at the American Legion last month.
A long-time local event held during the Wednesday evening Awana youth ministry, the Awana Grand Prix is a derby-style racing event with a track record of fun and excitement.
The idea behind Awana Grand Prix is to help build a bond between kids and their parents as they work together to design their race car while the event provides churches with a place to present the gospel message.
Awana teaches kids about Christ through fun, Scripturerich experiences, combining Bible memorization with group games, small group lessons and discussions.
