Holiday Spectacular kicks off week-long “celebrate and support local” effort

    KRISTI HINE / TRUE DAKOTAN Sales were swift at the SACC Consignment Store Monday night during Holiday Spectacular, as community members flocked to the business district for a night of food, fellowship and shopping local.     The fifth annual Holiday Spectacular set the stage again this year for a bustling night of local shopping, food and fellowship. Friends and families strolled together along Main Street with bags from local shopkeepers in hand, greeting neighbors and sipping hot chocolate.

    The well-attended evening cranked up magic and merriment serving as a festive facet of “Hometown Holidays,” a “celebrate-local” effort spearheaded by local businesses and the Wessington Springs Area Chamber and Development.

    New this year, American Bank & Trust and Wessington Springs Area Chamber and Development (WSACD) have sponsored a special punch card to encourage folks to support local while earning a chance to win up to $100 in Bonus Bucks. Visit American Bank & Trust, Baker’s Design or Springs Food Market to pick up a card and simply shop and dine local to fill up your card and enter the drawing.
