Scheel leads FCCLA members in Midwest Honor Flight awareness, fundraising event

    With the coordination of Project Leader Carissa Scheel, the Wessington Springs FCCLA Chapter hosted a fundraising and awareness event for the Midwest Honor Flight, raising approximately $8,000 for the organization whose mission is to transport America’s Veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor the service and sacrifices of themselves and to fellow Veterans..

    Activities included a baked potato supper, silent auction, “Sweets for Your Sweetie Bake Sale,” quilt raffle, “Pop-a-Shot” and “Chuck-a-Duck.” Members also honored area veterans with a red candy rose.
