Two WSHS Seniors Take on New Roles at True Dakotan

True Dakotan readers may have noticed some new bylines in recent print and e-editions, namely Riley Roduner and Braydin LaBore.

We want to take this opportunity to officially introduce you to the two Wessington Springs High School seniors as they embark on a variety of projects with the community newspaper’s staff.

Roduner is interning at the True Dakotan, with the goal of learning marketing, advertising, design and photography fundamentals while honing her time management skills as she works on a newspaper deadline. Planning on pursuing a bachelor’s degree in sports management, skills she learns through the internship will help her as she advances in her studies after graduation next spring.

LaBore’s love for sports and knack for writing drew him to take journalism this semester. Already making big strides in the sports reporting department, he plans on covering not only football as he has in the past several editions of the True Dakotan, but also an inside look at the day to day life at the middle school/ high school as well as providing regular updates on the current rec center project.

“We are thrilled to have these two talented students working alongside our team at the True Dakotan and taking an interest in journalism as well as the business side of their community newspaper,” said True Dakotan Editor/ Publisher Kristi Hine. “Being a business that provides opportunities for students to learn helps grow our future local talent, which is essential in building strong communities.”
