The 2026 Jerauld/Buffalo Achievement Days have come to a close. This year's event featured more than 200 combined livestock and static display exhibit entries, showcasing the hard work and talents of local youth.The livestock show was held at the Jerauld County Barn/ Arena on August 4.

There was a little bit of everything happening around Wessington Springs during Foothills Days Aug. 7-8, as a collection of community events filled the weekend with golf, art, food, music, fundraisers and friendly competition.

For more than 50 years, every week without fail, Darleen Cuppy invited readers into the everyday moments of life in Wessington Springs. Next week, for the first time in more than half a century, there will be no new “Cuppy's Corner.
