Last week’s HuntSAFE course wrapped up with hands-on training and a live shoot at the Jerauld County Trap Club — but one moment on the range carried a story spanning generations.Dayle Winter and his son, Steve, helped teach Jason Weber hunter safety when Weber was a youngster.

Trail supporters urge community support ahead of Wednesday vote

Over the past year, True Dakotan readers have followed efforts by local trail enthusiasts to renovate the Old Grade Nature Trail, with volunteers pursuing grants and other funding for the project.

The South Dakota Health Care Association is seeking entries for the 29th annual Dakota MasterWorks Art Show, open to South Dakota residents age 60 and older. Entries will be accepted Oct. 5-9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the SDHCA office, 804 N. Western Ave., Sioux Falls.

South Dakota voters can be placed in “inactive status” if they go four consecutive years without voting, updating their voter registration information or responding to a confirmation mailing.If they haven’t voted in the previous four years, the voter will be sent a confirmation postcard.
