Shakespeare Garden Planting Festival Set for May 22-25

    Shakespeare Garden Society members and volunteers from near and far participate in the annual Planting Festival in Wessington Springs every year,

    The long standing tradition of the Annual Shakespeare Garden Planting Festival is set to begin Wednesday, May 22. Volunteers will transport plants to the garden Wednesday morning and all are welcome to help plant for the season alongside other community members and volunteers from across the country.

    The much-loved Blessing of the Garden will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by by Pastor Cheri Van Gorp from the Springs Methodist Church. Planting will commence after the blessing and will continue through Saturday — or until finished.

    Anyone wanting and willing to help may contact any board member or simply show up anytime during the festival. A board member will be happy to give you instructions and welcome all helpers. Call Susan Arnott at (605) 539-1999 for more information.
