Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

I wrote my Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed the chicken dinner from the Manor kitchen. At 4 p.m. I went to see CNP Sara Cashman for a checkup on my leg. Tuesday was a very blustery day. Baleigh Sails spent the day with Grandma Dar Cuppy.

The finish line is in sight for the 100th Legislative Session. This has been a long and, at times, challenging few months, but our work is not done yet. The final stretch is always a whirlwind, and right now, much of our focus is on finalizing the state budget.

Choir and Music Take a Swing

Lately, Wessington Springs High School (WSHS)choirstudentshave been busy. On February 5, the WSHS choir competed at the vocal solo/ensemble contest in Kimball, SD. Fourteen students sang solos and 12 kids received superior scoring, with two soloists receiving an excellent score.

Week 7 of Legislative Session was the busiest one yet! On Tuesday was Crossover Day, which is when the House must send all of its bills over to the Senate. We had 22 house bills to get through on this final day.
