Publisher Shares Open Meeting Law Concerns With School Board Chair, Superintendent

As you may recall, I questioned the Wessington Springs School District Board of Education during the July meeting regarding action taken on fitness center rates when it did not appear on the agenda, as reported in the July 17 edition.

A Call for Civility

A while back, I was welcoming home a National Guard unit that had been overseas. After the ceremony, a sergeant who had been deployed three times, including twice to an active combat zone, thanked me for my service, saying he couldn’t imagine a post so difficult.I was speechless.

To the Editor: Over the last decade or two our nation has become increasingly divided along racial, economic and regional lines but especially along political lines. The proliferation of news sources and social media have supported and even accelerated this change.

Darleen’s granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger got some things Darleen needed and stayed to visit a while.
