The Springs Country Club hosted the final Youth-Adult Golf Tournament of the season on Sunday, August 24, drawing 26 teams for an afternoon of camaraderie and competition. All 34 teams competing in the annual “Fire in the Hole” Golf Tournament posed for a group photo in front of a Wessington Springs Fire Department truck at Springs Country Club on Saturday, Aug. 23. Proceeds from the tournament will help fund the community’s Fourth of July fireworks celebration as well as a memorial honoring fallen firefighter Michial Brodkorb.
Wesley Molnar (2) was a steady target with five catches for 59 yards.
KRISTI HINE / TRUE DAKOTAN Hayes Havlik added three catches for 76 yards, including a touchdown during Friday night’s 13-12 Bucks victory over Bridgewater-Emery-Ethan. Havlik suffered a catastrophic ankle and lower leg injury during the game and later underwent surgery.
