After a strong season, the VFW Post 5548 Teener Baseball Team clinched their spot in the state tournament. Action takes place this weekend in Clark.

Mason Schelske’s hot bat and Terrek Butterfield’s steady arm helped keep the Wessington Springs Owls alive in Pony Hills district tournament play with a 6-4 win over Winner on Sunday.Schelske went 2-for-3 at the plate, driving in four runs with a double and a pair of key hits.

Twenty-six teams of dedicated golfers went on to complete the 17th Annual Blue and Gold Golf Tournament held Saturday, June 28,2025 at the Springs Country Club in Wessington Springs.Golfers enjoyed 18-holes and lunch with all proceeds from the tourney supporting the Spartans Booster Club.

Pair of Jacks Tournament Raises Over $2K for Spartan Golf Team

This year’s Pair of Jacks Golf Tournament brought in $2,279 to support the Wessington Springs High School golf team, with proceeds helping cover equipment costs and facility improvements at the Springs Country Club.
