Wessington Springs Municipal Pool lifeguards took a quick break from preparing the pool area to pose for a photo ahead of opening day scheduled for June 1, 2025 (weather permitting). Thanks to the efforts of the park board and private donors, admission to the pool is free for the 2025 season.
The golf tournament season is officially underway with the Annual Pair of Jacks Memorial Tournament drawing 31 teams to the course Sunday, May 25. The tournament was held in memory of Jack Ferguson and Jack Krueger and hosted by the Ferguson and Krueger families. The families said the tournament was held in celebration of two Wessington Springs men and their love for community, family, friends and golf. KRISTI HINE / TRUE DAKOTAN

The Annual Pair of Jacks Memorial Golf Tourney kicked off the golf tournament season at the Springs Country Club in Wessington Springs on Sunday, May 26.

The Wessington Springs Spartans varsity golf team has wrapped up a successful regular season and are now setting their sights on the regional tournament, which will be held next week in Huron.

On Monday, May 5, 2025, Wessington Springs was the host site for the Junior High 281 Conference Meet held at Spartan Stadium.In the discus, Tieghan Bell threw 43’ 2”, 37’ 9”, 46’ 3”, and 45’ 7”. Her furthest of 46’ 3” landed her in 6th place. On the track, Tieghan ran 17.46 in the 100m dash.
