The Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds closed out their 2025–26 boys basketball season on Tuesday, March 3, falling to No. 3 seed Wessington Springs 71–40 in Region 2B quarterfinal action.

It was a basketball day for Wessington Springs on Feb. 21. A Junior High tournament was held and many teams participated. The surrounding area teams included Hitchcock-Tulare, Wolsey-Wessington, Sanborn Central-Woonsocket, Miller, Kimball-White Lake, and James Valley Christian.

WSHS Senior Hosts Fundraiser to Support WWSSC Football

This past Friday, Wessington Springs High School (WSHS) senior Grady Gran held an event during the home boys basketball game vs. the Sanborn-Central Woonsocket Blackhawks to raise money for the Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central Bucks (WWSSC) football team.

The Wessington Springs Spartans’ girls basketball season came to a close last Tuesday with a 58-51 loss to De Smet in Region 2B play.De Smet took control early, building a 17-5 lead by the end of the first quarter.
