4-H Members Honored at 2025 Jerauld-Buffalo Recognition Event

The 2025 Jerauld-Buffalo Recognition Event began with a welcome and a meal before honoring youth for their accomplishments throughout the year. Premium monies were earned through ribbonplacing events, while incentive points were accumulated by participating in activities such as Achievement Days, horse shows, Shooting Sports, judging contests, rodeos, and Youth-in-Action events. The event celebrates the hard work, growth, and achievements of all 4-H members and their journeys through the program.

During the year members work toward pins that promote project achievement. Shae Bergeleen, Remi Yost and Luke Rybak all received their first-year pins. Crawleigh Reiner earned her pin in geology and minerals as well as her bronze achievement pin. Joseph Rybak earned his 5th year pin. Mauer Jones earned his 5th year pin, a pin in consumer decision making, as well as his bronze and silver pins. The highest level of pin the SD 4-H Key Award was earned by members Mercedes Jones and Ella Fagerhaug.

On behalf of the 4-H leaders, volunteers, and members, we are pleased to announce that the 2025 Friend of 4-H award this year goes to Teresa Fonder. Teresa played a crucial role as the Extension Administrative Assistant for eight years. Although she retired in September, we are truly grateful for the impact she made during her time with us.

Additionally, the Alumni Award recipient is Delvin Feistner. Delvin is a dedicated advocate for 4-H youth and their project achievements. He consistently supports our youth by cheering them on from the stands and we sincerely appreciate his unwavering support.

Thank you to all the sponsors in our community who believe in 4-H programs and support the mission and development of our youth.
