Former SDSU Coach to Speak at Wessington Springs Theology on Tap Event August 10

Former South Dakota State University football coach John Stiegelmeier will be the featured speaker at a special Theology on Tap event on Sunday, August 10, at the Wessington Springs Football Field.

Stiegelmeier will present “The Important Balance of Faith and Sports,” offering reflections from his decades-long career in coaching and leadership. The event is free and open to all, regardless of faith background.

The evening begins with a free supper served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by Stiegelmeier’s talk at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear a jersey or school colors to show their team spirit. Seating will be available in the stadium, and lawn chairs are welcome.

Known for his integrity and faith-based coaching style, Stiegelmeier retired after leading the 2022 Jackrabbits team to a national championship and earning widespread respect both on and off the field.

The event is sponsored by Theology on Tap. Those planning to attend with a large group are asked to RSVP by calling (605) 280-7724.
