Krueger Named Finalist in ‘Who Powers You’ Contest

Joyce Krueger of Wessington Springs has been named a finalist in the annual “Who Powers You” contest hosted by Central Electric Cooperative and the region’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives. Beth Magistro nominated Krueger in recognition of her commitment to the community and dedication to volunteering for the benefit of others. In the written nomination, Magistro shared, “Joyce is the most positive, caring, loving person I know. She goes out of her way to transport community members to appointments, to visit family or out to community meals, sports activities and so much more. She always has kind words and support for family, friends, and strangers. She is the light of this community.”

During her interview on the Keloland Living television program on April 30, Krueger said, “My mom and grandma were very ill when I was growing up, so I became a caregiver early in life.” And it seems that spirit of caregiving has carried forward over the years. Krueger credits her faith, family, friends and neighbors as her reasons for giving back to the community.

Weekly finalists are featured on Keloland Living, and three contest winners will be selected based on their impact in the community. Finalist interviews can be accessed online at WhoPowersYouContest. com.
