MUSEUM MUSINGS

Starting in Febraury and continuing every month, volunteers with the Dunham Historical Society are opening the doors of the Jerauld County Museum to share small but fascinating glimpses of early life on the northern plains.

This month we have an interesting clipping from the Wessington Springs Herald, circa 1884. From community notices and social items to advertisements and local happenings, these clippings reveal the voices, humor and priorities of the town’s earliest residents.

Alongside selections from the Herald archives, this column will also highlight interesting artifacts and recent donations to the museum, each piece adding another layer to the story of Jerauld County.
